Joel D. Kershaw is a life-long resident of Southeast Michigan who has demonstrated his commitment to serving individuals and the community.

Joel graduated cum laude from Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As a student at Ave Maria, he served as an editor of the Ave Maria Law Review. Additionally, he served as President of the Ave Maria Criminal Justice Society. He also worked as a research assistant to an associate dean and a professor at Ave Maria. Joel has recently provided volunteer services to the Washtenaw County Office of Public Defender in Ann Arbor, MI. Currently, he volunteers with Christian Legal Aid in Detroit, and he is a leader and mentor for Middle School aged students with Shift (NorthBrook) Student Ministry in Carleton. His wife, Sarah, is the Creative Director/Production Manager at NorthBrook Church.

Joel is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bar Association.
